Next weekend sees the PBFA book-fair at Durham. Allegedly a fine little fair. (I’ve never actually made it – it is a long way from the south coast). Now run by Jeremiah Vokes (who specializes in detective fiction and Sherlock Holmes material), the fair is being held at the Durham School, Quarryheads Lane, Durham City, DH1 4SZ. Saturday 13th Feb from 10am-4pm. Many of the northern dealers will be there, so it is well worth a visit. If you would like a free ticket to the fair, click on the book here to go to the correct page of the pbfa website.
However, I cannot let mention of Durham pass without mentioning the Tiffins. Tony and Gill Tiffin managed the Durham fair for many years, and always make me feel very welcome when I venture to the north. I caught up with them at the York fair this January, and bribed them into being interviewed. I have to give special thanks to Neil Summersgill, who was behind me whilst i was filming, and kept Gill in fits of giggles!
